The India College of Ministry (ICOM) has been created as a self-study  program  designedfor lay leaders. ICOMis a partnership between the Assemblies of God of India and Global University to train leaders to plant a church in their homes.

ICOM is designed to provide foundational ministry training in Bible, Theology and Practical Ministry Skills.

If you are a pastor from an ASSEMBLY OF GOD CHURCH, in India, then we want to encourage you to register your church as a STUDY CENTER for ICOM.  Please do get in touch with us and we will tell you how you can become a STRONG DISCIPLE MAKING, EVANGELISING CHURCH:

HOW TO STUDY THE BIBLE

It is written in the Holy Bible "My people die for lack of knowledge".  God is calling all HIS children into fellowship with HIS Son Jesus Christ.  Therefore, If you consider yourself as a child of God, but you and your friends are not sure how to HOW TO STUDY THE BIBLE or become a part of God's family - then you have come to the right place.

1.  Have your local church registered a. STUDY CENTER.

2.  Enroll yourself and your friends as students in INDIA COLLEGE OF MINISTRY.

3.  Join the family of God and become involved in your Heavenly Father's Business of winning souls.

Get in touch with the Regional ICOM Office where you belong and they will help you to redeem the days for the time ahead is perilous.

It has been a long time since I had been blogging.  I realised that I was neglecting one of the very important modes of connecting with the people and that is through the internet.  The very reason why we have been created by God is show forth HIS glory.

It is not enough for us to go to church on Sundays, but it is also important to tell the people around us about Jesus.  Media is the very best means of propagating the good news about Jesus Christ.  Allow me to give you THE JESUS FILM PROJECT to enable you to tell others about Jesus in whatever language you may need:

ORAGADAM STUDY CENTER

To God be all the glory for what HE is doing in and through us.  By HIS grace we were able to start a study center at Oragadam which is beyond Ambattur Old Town. This church was dedicated by Rev. David Stewart Jr.  And we now join hands with the Pastor Stephen and Brother Devigaraj and his wife, to start a class in Evangel AG Church, Oragadam.   

Brother Devigaraj and his wife had been coming to our Saidapet Study Center, even though they were staying in Oragadam.   After a lot of prayer, we were directed to start the study center here.  There are now twentythree students eagerly waiting every Thursday evening for Brother Ramesh Daniel to come and teach them.

TO GOD ALONE BE ALL THE GLORY HONOR AND PRAISE.

"WE CAN DO ALL THINGS IN CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENS US"

There is no stopping you, if you are about your Heavenly Father's business.  The "Barrier Breaker" goes before you, to break down every barrier that stands in your way, so that the mountains in your life become a highway,   for it is written in Isaiah 62:10 Pass through, pass through the gates! Prepare the way for the people. Build up, build up the highway! Remove the stones. Raise a banner for the nations." and in Psalm 18:36 "You provide a broad path for my feet, so that my ankles do not give way."

God is with us! Who dare come against us. We are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus! And there is nothing that can ever separate us from HIS love.

Persevering in HIS footsteps

இயேசு கிறிஸ்து, இந்த உலக உணவும் குடியும் பானம் பண்ணாமல் தன்னுடைய  பிதாவின்  சித்தம்  தான்  செய்து  முடிக்கணும் என்று ப்ரியாசபட்டார்.  நாம்  அவருடைய வழியை பின்பற்ற,  அனைத்து கல்வி நிலையங்கள் உறுப்பினர்கள் சேர்ந்து சனிகிழமை நவம்பர் 24, 2012 அன்று இந்தியா தேசத்திற்கும், தமிழ்நாட்டுக்கும், சென்னை பட்டனதிற்க்கும் ஜெபம் செய்ய போகிறோம்.   நீங்களும் எங்களோடு சேர விரும்பினால், கீழுள்ள தொலை பேசி எண்ணுக்கு தொடர்புக்கொள்ளலாம்.  ஆண்டவர் உண்மையுள்ளவர். நாம் அவருடைய சித்தத்தின்படி எதை கேட்டாலும் எங்கள்ளுக்கு அதை கிடைக்குமென்று  விசுவாசிக்கிறோம்.

As we read about the life of Jesus, we see that HE did not partake much of earthly food and drink; rather HIS food was to do the will of HIS FATHER and complete it.  In our perseverence, we  have planned to have a Fasting & Prayer on November 24, 2012.  We are going to pray for the nation of India, the state of Tamilnadu and the city of Madras.  God is faithful and since we ask anything according to HIS will, we will have what we ask..

Teach me to listen, I want to hear Jesus

As a Leaders who follows Christ, we must lead just as the Master did.  Jesus led by faith in HIS Father because HE knew HIS Father.  Similarly, we too must know our Heavenly Father through an intimate fellowship with HIM.   Many years ago, on one of my trips to the South of Tamilnadu, in a village of Valliyoor Vadakankullam, I was awakened early in the morning.  The Lord impressed upon my heart to spend the early morning hours with HIM to hear and give heed to HIM.  To summarize it in Tamil "அதி  காலை   ஜெபம்  ஒரு ஐக்கிய  ஜெபம்  இருக்கட்டும்."  "Let your early morning prayer be a time of fellowship with God" when you come to listen rather than speak to your Heavenly Father. 

The early morning time is not to bring requests to the Lord, it is a time of hearing from the Lord.  God is in heaven and you are on earth, so let your words be few.  Eccl.5:2.  Most of the time, we are so busy voicing our prayers to God, that we do not listen or give heed to what HE says. Jesus said in Mathew 6:7-9 "And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.  Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him."  God has given us two ears but only one mouth.  So let us hear twice as much as we speak to HIM.   

Hence, if  your time  of praise and worship to the Lord is for one hour, let your hearing from God be for two hours.  Read and meditate on the Word of God for twice as much time as you spend speaking to HIM.  Accept instruction from  HIS mouth and lay up HIS Words in your heart until it begins to overflow from your heart.  Then from the overflow of your heart, your mouth will speak.   In  1 Peter 4:11 it is written "If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God."   And the Word of God that is spoken will not fall to the ground void, but will accomplish what God has sent it to accomplish."   There will be a transformation in the hearts of the hearers.  And God, who worked so powerfully in Peter and Paul, and all the mighty saints of God, will also work in you and your hearers to make them into what God wants them to be.

May the Lord Bless you and make you into what HE wants you to be.

I remain a servant to all of you, until Christ is formed in you.

THE LORD HAS GIVEN US A BREAKTHROUGH!

On Wednesday, September 19, 2012, twentythree ICI University leaders from all the study centers, went together to Mudichur for a time of seeking the face of the Lord.   Sensing the call of the Lord to a higher relationship with HIM, Bro. Noel Pentony and Bro. Ramesh Daniel called the leaders together for an intense fellowship with the Lord. 

The ICI University Madras Leadership prayed for the nation of India, the state of Tamilnadu, the city of Chennai, the church, the pastors, for the communities around us, for our families and for the needs of ICI University.  

The Lord had spoken to us clearly in 2009 from Ezekiel 38:7 and now from Ezekiel 9:4 and Esther 4:14.  We submitted to the Lord and called the leaders together to cry to the Lord the nation of India.  

We believe that if we the people of God, who are called by HIS Name, humble ourselves according to HIS Word in 2 Chronicles 7:14, then God will hear from heaven and will forgive our sins and will heal our land.  However, if we do not do what the Lord tells us, then we the leaders stand in danger of being removed by the angel of the Lord.  For in chapter 9 of Ezekiel we read that there were six men,  God tells the man with the writing kit, to put a mark on the all those who are grieving for the abominations done in Jerusalem (to every one who is reading this blog - it denotes the very land in which you are in).   The six men are then told to kill all the persons who did not have the mark on their foreheads beginning with the sanctuary.

My brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus!  Our God is not only always good but HE is also just.  And in these last days God has decided to begin HIS judgement with HIS house first.  Therefore, seek HIM with a sincere heart for it is given to man to die once and after that he will be judged.

It is written in Rev.3:19 "Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent."

May the love of God bring every one of us to true repentance.

GOD IS ON THE MOVE ..

and read of the wonderful work that the Lord is doing in each of the students.  The lives of the students, their families, their work place and their communities.

The Lord had blessed us with the visit of Bro. Kevin Donaldson, Regional Director of Global University, India.  We are truly grateful for his kind visit, despite his busy schedule, to come to our office and to encourage the team in Chennai.  

ONE MORE REASON TO PRAISE GOD!

By the grace of God we have started one more Study Center at Pammal.

God is moving in our midst and adding to HIS church the many who are being saved.

THE LORD IS MOVING IN OUR MIDST

All glory, honor and praise be to the Lord who made Himself known and glorified in our midst as we submit to HIM for His plans and purposes.  We had started the Thousand Lights Model School Road with just 16 members.  Last week we had 44 with a promise of more in the coming weeks. 

The move of God can be seen in this place.  Every week more and more people are coming to this center as God is moving in the midst of these famished people who are hungry and thirsty for the teaching of HIS Word.

New Study Center Inauguration

According to the goals for this year.  We had planned to start only one study center.  However, the Lord has been gracious and given us the opportunity to start a second study center in Venkatapuram, Little Mount, Chennai - 600015.

After much prayer the Center at Little Mount, Venkatapuram was started.  We had prayer and a short message to the thirteen people who had come to the center.  One brother on his way back to his home in Guguvancherry also came to the center.  The people are hungry for the WORD to be taught to them.  We praise God for the open doors that HE is giving us in the city of Chennai.  

THOUSAND LIGHTS - Model School Rd Center

We had been praying for many months for this center.  People from here had been coming to our Center at Greames Road. Finally on the 16th of March a home was opened. The Lord opened the doors and gave us victory.  The area pastor came and dedicated this study center and said it is part of NEW LIFE ASSEMBLY OF GOD CHURCH.  To God alone be all the glory, honor and  praise.

ICI UNIVERSTIY GRADUATION @ THIRUVANMIYUR

The Lord bless the twenty two students and also the church.  The students are actively involved in reaching out to the neighbourhood and brining in many souls to the glory of God.

SPECIAL THANKSGIVING PRAYER

"When hard pressed, we cried to the LORD; he brought us into a spacious place."  Psalm 118:5

In the beginning of this year we were told to shift before the end of the month of May.   We went about searching for a suitable place for our office, however, even after three months of searching we did not find a suitable place.

In the middle of April, we were wondering what to do when we were told that a portion two doors away, in the same street where we had our office, was vacant.  We  took that office and moved all our books and furniture there.  It was a little bit cramped, but the work of the Lord continued.

We had some wet weather in the month of October and towards the end of the month we found that termites began to emerge from tiny holes in the floor.  Over a weekend the termites had gone through the books that were on the lower shelves.  We got the exterminators to come in and they gave us their estimate for which the house owner was not willing to pay, and he wanted us to shift from his premises.

We cried out to the Lord and HE heard us and delivered us from all our fears.  Through the grace of the Lord and kindness of Pastor Tim Pipkin, we found favor in the eyes of Rev.D. Mohan, Senor Pastor, New Life Assembly of God, Little Mount, Chennai-15 and we were allowed to shift our office to the Church premisses by the 17th of November 2011.  

The Lord has been faithful and good to us.  Though we were hard pressed on every side, we were not crushed, perplexed but not in despair.  We cried out to the Lord and HE has granted us a spacious place  where we could be in the middle of the study centers so that the work has continued and
